I'm Scotty Anderson, the one-man band that is Aeon Design. I'm a qualified and inventive graphic designer, a proficient web designer, a pretty good photographer and a reliable, down-to-earth kind of guy - and I hope the rest of this will sound a lot less like a resumé.
I currently run Aeon Design from my home in Atawhai, Nelson.  We've been incorporated and GST registered since February 2011 when I decided to take Aeon Design from a side project to a full time business.  I've assumed the title 'creative designer' - it's part creative director, part graphic designer, I felt creative director was a too grander position and my work is broader than just graphic design.

The focus for Aeon Design is providing a complete range of design services to small businesses and independent workers. What motivates me is the satisfaction of knowing I've delivered a unique service that has really helped, and it is with small businesses that I can be of the largest help.  I prefer to work with clients who run their own business because it's their passion that has led them to do what they're doing - much the same as the reasons I'm providing creative services.  I recognise the need for good professional support when running a business, be that accounting, legal, marketing or design, and I feel a responsibility to my clients as I would an employer to provide an excellent service.  As your go-to media designer I'm invested in your success and conscious of how that reflects upon my own.

Your printed materials say a lot about your business.  They're often the first impression you make on potential customers.  When dealing with an independent designer there are no restrictions with materials, I use which ever printing or sign writing firm best suits the project.  I'm always looking for new ways to market my clients with effective and affordable media.  Unique business cards, eye catching brochures, beautiful catalogs, advertising that attracts people, whatever you need for your business - I'm here to work with you.  (more)

Quality images complete your designed media.  Some years back now when I decided on the career path of being a graphic designer I decided I'd study photography as well as  I believe the two disciplines benefit each other.  It's something I really enjoy and have had success with. I've exhibited photographic works in Nelson and Invercargill.  My graduate work was an installation combining photography, design and audio production can be viewed here.  I use a wide array of techniques and professional grade equipment to get impressive, thought provoking images. One of the things I find difficult about working for myself is working by myself. That's why I'm actively developing a network of like minded people in similar situations. If you need someone to bounce ideas off, test and gain useful feedback from before taking work to clients or market, share resources and skills etc then get in touch with me. I've noticed the creative industry can be quite fragmented and I want to change that for freelancers and small studios.

I studied with Phil Robinson from Back9Design in Invercargill, we have skype meetings weekly and share design concepts and generally help each other out. We both have our stronger areas and as a co-operative can offer our clients a better and broader range or services. If you're based in the deep south give Phil a yell - the force is strong with this one!

I also share a side project with the Head Chef at the Mint Dining Room. Grant and I are attempting to create a book that exposes the finer produce from Nelson & Marlborough. We have a blog which records our progress and is an open forum for suggestions and feedback from interested parties.
